How does your figure stay so slender?

Well you see, my grandmother was quite thin, my mother was quite thin, and so now I am quite thin.

I’m planning on spending my day rearranging my room, reading The Great Gatsby, and journaling, but it is raining and that makes me sleepy.  I think its time for mid-day coffee.

“The people in the world, and the objects in it, and the world as a whole, are not absolute things, but on the contrary, are the phenomena of perception. If we were all alike: if we were millions of people saying do, re, mi, in unison, one poet would be enough. But we are not alone, and everything needs expounding all the time because, as people live and die, each one perceiving life and death for himself, and mostly by and in himself, there develops a curiosity about the perceptions of others. This is what makes it possible to go on saying new things about old things.” —Wallace Stevens (via enchanting)

“Me and my friends saw Crazy, Stupid, Love, and we were freaking out. “Everyone falls in love with him after that.” —Elle Fanning on her crush on Ryan Gosling (via elf-locks)

She is adorable.

I am drinking coffee with the smell of my Christmas candle all around me and twinkling prisms stopping by to say hello every now and then.  Christmas was perfect.

“You know, I sometimes think, how is anyone ever gonna come up with a book, or a painting, or a symphony, or a sculpture that can compete with a great city. You can’t. Because you look around and every street, every boulevard, is its own special art form and when you think that in the cold, violent, meaningless universe that Paris exists, these lights, I mean come on, there’s nothing happening on Jupiter or Neptune, but from way out in space you can see these lights, the cafés, people drinking and singing. For all we know, Paris is the hottest spot in the universe” —Midnight in Paris

“Have you ever heard the wonderful silence just before the dawn? Or the quiet and calm just as a storm ends? Or perhaps you know the silence when you haven’t the answer to a question you’ve been asked, or the hush of a country road at night, or the expectant pause of a room full of people when someone is just about to speak, or, most beautiful of all, the moment after the door closes and you’re alone in the whole house? Each one is different, you know, and all very beautiful if you listen carefully.” —Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth  (via chambraytop)
